A former Grasstrack champion at youth level, Greenwood looked like he would go on to have a successful career in speedway.
Greenwood won the British Under-15 Championship in 2007 and made his competitive debut with the Rye House Cobras in 2008. Things didn’t go as smoothly as expected and Greenwood quit the sport at the end of the season.
It wasn’t then until October 2011 that the youngster returned to the shale as he made five guest appearances with various National League sides. He made it clear that he was looking to re-start his speedway career and in January 2012, the Dudley Heathens announced Greenwood as the final member of their team for the forthcoming season.
